Steven S. Farbman

For more than 35 years Steven S. The verdicts and settlements he has obtained often outweigh the expectations even his clients have.  One of his more memorable jury verdicts was a jury award in excess of four million dollars for his client, a mother who after being struck by a tractor trailer at a red light underwent several spinal surgeries. Mr. Farbman’s successful verdict was the fourth largest in Miami-Dade County that year. Mr. Farbman also argued and triumphed for a sixty-seven year old woman who tripped on an uneven sidewalk, resulting in her suffering a fractured hip and torn rotator cuff. The jury award was the largest in Indian River County for that year. Mr. Farbman fought hard for a woman suffering life threatening injuries when, while riding on the back of a motorcycle, the driver took a turn too quickly, causing her to be thrown off the motorcycle.  When the insurance company offered only $50,000.00, Mr. Farbman brought the case to trial and at the conclusion of a contentious two week trial; a jury awarded a record setting verdict in favor of Mr. Farbman’s client in the amount of $7,881,657.64.

Mr. Farbman’s reputation as a hardnosed litigator, has also allowed him to resolve cases for his clients without the need of lengthy and costly litigation. He has successfully negotiated pre-trial settlements in excess of one million dollars for a variety of injuries and claims. One such settlement was for an immigrant truck driver who suffered back injuries in a trucking accident in Indiana.  He also finds insurance coverage when others can’t, successfully compelling an insurance carrier to afford coverage to a wife and her children who lost their husband and father in a severe car crash.  Mr. Farbman seeks justice in a variety of personal injury cases, including, but not limited to, wrongful death, drunken driving, motor vehicle crashes, motorcycle accidents, defective products, premises liability, airplane crashes, medical malpractice, sexual assaults, animal attacks, and more.

Steven S. Farbman was born and raised in the state of New Jersey, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania.  He came to South Florida in 1982, receiving his Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University Shephard Broad College of Law. While in law school he excelled in Tort Law and Trial Advocacy, which gave him the motivation upon graduation to immediately start his career as a personal injury trial lawyer. More importantly, he decided to help those who were seriously harmed by the carelessness of others as opposed to protecting the multi-billion dollar insurance industry.

Steven remained in South Florida following law school, as he fell in love with all that South Florida has to offer, including his wife to be.  Together they raised a son who works as a recruiter and a daughter who works as a media buyer.

Practicing law since 1985, Steve has become a prominent member of the South Florida community. Throughout his career and through the achievements he has attained, Steve still remains unassuming, friendly, caring, humorous, and a sincere person who likes to view each client as a member of his own family. Beyond his professional work, he is heavily involved in charitable organizations, often donating of his time to assist those in need. In the early stages of his career he volunteered his services at the Broward County’s Guardian ad Litem, during which time he helped protect children in custody disputes and who may have been abused.

In Hollywood he was elected chair of the Leadership Program sponsored by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, where he led and introduced business owners, professionals, community activists, and members of government to important organizations in the community which deal with education, government, social services, legal services, environment, tourism, media, and public safety. Mr. Farbman has also been an elected member of the Board of Directors of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Farbman frequently gives back to his law school Alma Mata, NSU’s Shephard Broad College of Law. In addition to charitable donations, Mr. Farbman sits on both the alumni board of directors, and as a result of his unanimous election to President of the Board in 2015, he also attends the meetings of the NSU Shephard Broad College of Law’s Board of Governors. He often lectures, being recently honored in May 15, 2015, to lecture at the Law School on the topic of Board Certification: Reaching the Pinnacle of Practice.

Steven S. Farbman is not only is licensed in the state of Florida, but is also licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey and is admitted to practice in front of the United States Supreme Court.
